DENVER – A Colorado pastor has been accused of luring a man to a Denver motel by first offering sex and then claiming to be a U.S. marshal while handcuffing and robbing the victim.
Police say 43-year-old Michael Todd Abromovich (uh-BRAH’-moh-vich) stole a computer and iPad from the victim before releasing him.
Set Free God’s House ministry in Colorado Springs says Abromovich served as a pastor there for more than a year, preaching, teaching Bible class and fundraising.
He was arrested in Phoenix last week and was extradited to Denver on charges of kidnapping, theft and impersonating an officer. He hasn’t entered a plea. Court records don’t indicate whether he has an attorney.
Abromovich also faces a theft charge in the Colorado Springs area. Details weren’t immediately available.
KCNC-TV in Denver first reported the arrest.
